A musical route downtown
The Municipality of Pafos celebrates World Music Day and invites the public on Sunday, June 21, 2026, on a unique musical route in the city center.
The program will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Public Garden, behind the Municipal Palace, with the Vox Venus Same Voice Choir and the Total Harps of the Paphos Music School.
The Vox Venus Choir, the Choir of Girls of the Paphos and Limassol Music Schools, will present the cover of Cypriot traditional songs such as "My White Rose – White Rose", "Agia Kotsini" and "Myrtias". The piano is accompanied by Ivelina Rouseva, a piano teacher of the Paphos Music School, while the choir is run by Eleni Kyprianou.
The Paphos Music School's “Balls of Lost Dreams”, the traditional song “The Yasmine”, the “Ode to Joy” from the 9th Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven, the Passacaglia in G Minor of G. F. Handel, the traditional English song Greensleeves and others.
The musical route is then transferred to the Fountain of Sleeping Love, in Kostis Palamas Square, where at 5:30 p.m., in co-organization with the Alliance Française de Paphos, Ermina Kalogeros in voice and Elias Koutlis in guitar present the musical afternoon "From Paris with Love".
It is a musical tour of the French song through favorite tunes that marked different times. The program includes classic and contemporary songs such as Edith Piaf's "La Vie en Rose", "Sous le Ciel de Paris", "Je Veux" by Zaz, as well as other well-known French Chansons, which highlight the romantic and timeless charm of French music.
The route continues in Ibis Maliotou Forest, in front of the Municipal Gallery, at 6:30 p.m., with the musical performance "The Apology of Gitzika" for the whole family, with Alexis Gouda in the narrative and Quintus Ensemble.
Did you know that cicadas spend up to seventeen years underground preparing to present their song? That they are not the lazy creatures many believe, but work tirelessly to achieve their purpose? Come and get to know the real Gitzika and his orchestra and listen to his unique story, his adventures and his song.
Small and large spectators can bring their blankets and enjoy the musical performance in a relaxed and hospitable environment, sitting on the grass, under the shadow of the trees of Alsus Ivis Maliotus. A special experience for the whole family, where music, narrative and nature meet creatively.
With the background of the summer sunset of Pafos, at the Administrative Square, at 7:30 pm, the musical route continues with Chara Miller Jazz Quintet, which will present a program with well-known foreign and Greek songs through the special sound of jazz.
With artistic elegance and authentic expression, the shape combines Greek and English Jazz & Swing Standards, as well as covers from various musical genres. Their characteristic sound has been described as “the velvety jazz experience”, offering the ideal musical companion for the last golden moments of the day. Hara Miller participates in the voice, Emilios Patsalidis on guitar, Kostas Halloumas on the contrabaso, George Kylis on drums and Mustafa Esenyel on keyboards.
World Music Day ends at 9:00 p.m. at the Amphitheatre of the Historical Documentation Centre with Rumba Attack. On stage Constantine Lyras and Memnon Ares on guitars and Savvas Thomas on percussions and vocals.
