25 films of fiction and documentary from Cyprus and the world under the stars
The Pafos International Film Festival (PIFF) returns for the 11th consecutive year from 26 to 28 June 2026. As an independent festival dedicated to the promotion of independent short films, PIFF will once again transform the garden of Technopolis 20 Cultural Center into a live outdoor cinema under the stars.
This year's program includes a collection of 25 films of fiction and documentary from Cyprus and around the world, with participations from Greece, Spain, France, Lebanon, Brazil and Cuba, among others. Every night, the audience is invited to meet strong stories and different film voices, with all the films shown in their original language with English subtitles.
A Gift to Nature: The History of Trophy Trees
An important part of the festival is the Audience Award, awarded every night in the film that receives most votes from viewers. This year, however, marks a deep personal development for the festival. Inspired by the excellent initiative of the Vienna Shorts film festival and after discussions with their team, PIFF has the honour to adopt the idea of "Trophy Trees" (Dentra-Tropia): for each winner of the Audience Award a tree dedicated to its creator and film will be planted. PIFF honors and publicly thanks Vienna Shorts for this important initiative and is thrilled to start this new tradition for a greener Cyprus.
To implement this vision, the festival collaborates with the Department of Forestry and the community of Lebas in Paphos. The official tree planting ceremonies will take place every autumn, ensuring that each tree contributes substantially to the natural beauty and ecosystem of the area.
A Tax of Honor in Paphos
Designed by the festival's co-organizer, Sylvia Nikolaidou, this year's poster draws inspiration from the nostalgic aesthetics of vintage postcards "Americana", redefining it through a local look: a ‘visual’ tribute to Paphos.
As an independent film festival, PIFF remains committed to cultivating love for cinema through the support of our local sponsors, whose substantial contribution makes it possible to conduct the festival every year.
So note the dates and leave yourself to the magic of cinema in the beautiful city of Pafos.
