From 15 July to 13 September Summer Cinema Constantia hosts a rich program with award-winning films from around the world
For another summer, the Constantia Summer Cinema in Nicosia is transformed into a meeting point for the friends of quality cinema, presenting the "Marathon of Summer Promotions 2026". From 15 July to 13 September, the public will have the opportunity to attend 22 selected films from Cyprus, Greece and many other countries, which have distinguished themselves in important international festivals and awards.
The screenings take place every Wednesday to Sunday at 21:00, with a ticket €5, and a €55 card is available. All films are shown in their original language with Greek or English subtitles, depending on production.

The curtain of this year's marathon opens with the Cypriot historical documentary by Stavros Papageorgiou, which illuminates a less known page of the history of Hellenism.
The film records the lives of the Greek refugees of Asia Minor who fled to Cyprus after the 1922 Asia Minor Disaster. Through the history of the Tosunoglou family from Alaya, the difficulties of refugees, the adaptation to the new homeland and the important contribution of refugees to the formation of Cypriot society emerge.

One of the most discussed social dramas of the year follows a young mother who moves with her two daughters to Taipei, seeking a fresh start. The everyday life in the big city proves demanding, while the younger daughter faces the traditional perceptions of her grandfather, who considers the left hand to be "devil" and insists on leaving it.
The film explores family relationships, the conflict between tradition and modern life, but also the position of woman through three different generations.
