A special musical performance in Paphos brings alive dragons, knights, queens and legends of medieval Cyprus, offering a magnificent experience for young and old.
The old Cypriot legends, myths and stories that passed from generation to generation come alive this summer in Paphos through the musical performance "Medieval Tales of Cyprus – "...that dragons to Cyprus nothing else!", an event that promises to travel to a time of imagination, adventure and popular wisdom.
The performance is presented by the Municipality of Pafos, as part of the cycle of events "Family", and will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., at the Court of the Municipal Gallery of Pafos, with free entrance for the public.
Narrator Marina Katsaris and musician Vangelis Gettos, who accompanies the narrative with accordion, lute and percussion, join forces in a special performance where the narrative meets live music. Through stories full of dragons, queens, knights, heroes and mythical creatures, the public will know the wealth of the Cypriot oral tradition and discover narratives that survived through the centuries.
With the original Cypriot dialect and music inspired by the medieval era, the performance creates a unique atmosphere, carrying small and large to a world where imagination meets history and legends gain life again.
This is a special cultural proposal that highlights the popular tradition of Cyprus in a modern and experiential way, offering a summer night full of images, music and feeling for the whole family.
