Dimitris Angelakis presents "Long Way Home", a musical journey inspired by Kavafis and the personal routes of life Vibraphonist Dimitris Angelakis and his quartet share with us compositions from his first personal album work Long Way Home. The title of the work, inspired by the "Ithaki" of K. P. Cavafy, stems from the composer's belief that we become those who are through our travels. Each of the original compositions is characterized by deep lyrical sound, with a strong rhythmic character, complex harmonies and intense swing feeling, and tells a story, always inspired by Greece, even when it bears the color of American jazz.
