This concert is, first of all, a meeting of a rapper, a pianist, a choir and an orchestra, conducted by Olivier Kundono. It is also a meeting of several musical styles: rap, gospel and the so‑called “classical” music. Supported by the engaged lyrics of the Franco‑Congolese rapper Youssoupha, the choristers and musicians bring to life the arrangements made by conductor Olivier Kundono.
At the intersection of film music and grand opera, but without abandoning rap, which retained the taste of sampling, the composer and arranger created an original score, free of pre‑recorded sequences, deejay and set rythmique (drums, bass), to allow rubato to express itself in favor of phrasing. And that’s without taking into account the presence of Manu Sauvage on the keyboard! So many ingredients gathered for this… experience!
