Born from the meeting between the saxophonist Baptiste Poulin and pianist Xavier Belin, "Crossing" is a French jazz duo. This training was influenced by many legendary duets such as Lee Konitz and Martial Solal, and Brad Mehldau and Joshua Redman. "Crossing" takes us on a musical journey where interaction, listening and creativity are at the heart of their games. Their music is an invitation to enter the creative intimacy of two complicit musicians. "Crossing" can be translated by crossing two roads or two ideas. The result of a crossing is always something new. "Crossing" is the encounter between Xavier's very syncopated, motivating and stable game and that virtuoso, lyrical and moving Baptiste. The crossing between the warm stamp of the saxophone and the round and percussive one of the piano. The blending between the green memories of the Burgundy countryside and the bright and flowery ones of the Martinic landscapes. After releasing their first album last January (CHOC Jazz Magazine, Grand Prix du Jury du templin Jazz à Oloron 2026, Finalist Jazz Migration 2025), the duo will come to present his repertoire on October 18.
As part of the Jazz sur Seine festival 2026.
Line-up : Xavier Belin : piano ; Baptiste Poulin : alto saxophone
