Historically dependent on the commune of Clichy, the village of Batignolles gained its independence in 1830 by being associated with the hamlet of Monceaux. From then on, the young commune will acquire a church, a cemetery, an impressive town hall, a market and even a theater, and see its territory cut in two by the railway trench of Saint-Lazare station and occupied by a huge freight station. In 1860, the 17th arrondissement was created by grouping Les Batignolles-Monceaux with the hamlet of Ternes (which still depended on Neuilly) and the new arrondissement will develop considerably while preserving the village spirit of Batignolles to this day. We will rediscover all this beautiful history on site.
