The laureate of the Parisculteurs project, initiated by Ville de Paris, this urban farm is the first in the capital to be located in an underground space. In the 3500 m² parking lot Raymond Queneau (18e), owned by a social landlord, the company Cycloponics created Caverne. Idea: “provide city dwellers with quality local production”. No fertilizers, no pesticides, no GMOs… some of their products even have the AB certification (organic farming). In this new‑type “cave” these small producers use the dark underground environment to revive an activity that disappeared long ago in the capital, renamed “le maraîchage carvernicole”.
