Prince Hamlet, his friend Horatio, Ophélie, his brother Laërte. What do these Shakespearean characters have to tell us, four hundred years later? Here they are no longer figures of the past but become four young today, nervous, funny and unarming lucidity. Perched on a staircase, telephones in hand, they speak of power, violence, corruption and desire, with humor as a weapon of survival.
By rubbing Shakespeare with contemporary fractures, Nathalie Garraud and Olivier Saccomano sound a lively, disenchanted but indocile speech, where tragedy becomes a critical and joyfully insolent playground.
