"Ulysse Mars is a singer-poet and electric guitarist.
On stage, he cultivates a pliers-noir humour, in a vein close to the cabaret, see stand-up, to contextualize songs that remain traversed by melancholy.
It offers a spectacle of sad songs where we laugh a lot.
His songs are portraits of the "techno-capitalist" society left behind today told with a former elegance.
He accompanied himself to the electric guitar with a game very marked by that of Marc Ribot, and on some songs of a box with retro rhythm. »
Monkey despair, an indie folk project based in Brussels, published its first remote fire EP on 25 February 2026. A maze paved with foggy paths, lost illusions and burning plains whose flames are inexorably approaching — a mirror of the world outside — but also with glimmers of hope. With its twilight atmospheres by its powerful voice and the sounds of guitars full of effects fed by the great names of the English folk, but also by artists such as Tamino, Desperation of the monkeys invites us to travel towards this horizon so far but yet so close and, knowing that we do not have a grip on it, to continue to move forward - towards the light or the fire.
