125 Space is delighted to present the Pulse exhibition, which brings together three contemporary artists whose practice is united around a common belief: that color is not just a typical choice, but an active force capable of generating energy, creating memories, and changing the way we perceive the world around us.
Color is never neutral. It comes charged with mood, with history, with a pulse that beats autonomously, regardless of the substrate on which it is recorded. The exhibition opens with a pop‑up in an impressive seaside location for the first time: the Aphrodite Amathusia Cultural Center. This is a new project of 125 Space, right on the waterfront – a space that offers the ideal setting for works full of vitality and energy.
Tony Green reinterprets the classic mythology of the American West through explosive palettes and spontaneous line. Forms of cowboys and rodeo – traditionally rendered in dark earthy tones – shift to vivid, tropical environments, where they coexist with feminine figures and rhythmic repetition. Working with acrylics, inks, soft pastels and oil pastels on canvas, Green’s multilayered compositions capture the kinetic energy of the rodeo while simultaneously deconstructing its stoic character and conventions. Humor and freedom play a leading role in each of his works. Since graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2010, Green has collaborated with Selfridges, L'Oréal, Smythson of Bond Street and other major houses such as Prada and JACQUEMUS. His most recent collaboration was with Lanvin Paris for the SS2026 collection.
He has shown his work worldwide, and many of his pieces belong to international collections.
Laxmi Hussain’s work oscillates between abstraction and the figure – presenting the organic forms of the body through intricate organized patterns and detailed line. Her background in architecture shapes the precision of her design practice, however her themes – the body as a vessel, the tenderness of motherhood, the forms we encounter in everyday life – require a fluidity and intimacy that did not fit within architecture. Hussain works mainly in one color: a vivid blue that serves as a tribute to her mother, whom she has lost. Through this chromatic tribute, her practice becomes a celebration of motherhood itself – of the woman, of loss, and of the bond with her own children. Hussain works with multiple media, often deliberately incorporating elements of imperfection, forcing the viewer to stand, engage, and fill the gaps themselves. Among her exhibitions are Print Club London, Hackney Art Week and a solo presentation at Aspex Portsmouth. Her works have been featured in Vogue UK, the Financial Times and ELLE Decoration, with collaborations with the Tate, H&M Home and the Royal Academy of the Arts.Anna Kalinitschenko treats color as a subject in itself, in its purest form. Based in Cologne, she creates luminous compositions through transparent layers of acrylic paint, ink, and pastel on raw cotton canvas, where the exposed points of the fabric allow light and void to function as active elements within each work. Her research around how colors interact, balance, and transform each other creates paintings that operate beyond representation, inviting the viewer into intuitive, emotional encounters rather than pre‑designed narratives. Her work cultivates spaces of optimism, energy, and connection.
