Four skilled musicians unite sounds, places and memories in a musical journey from the Mediterranean to the Balkans, creating bridges beyond borders and cultures.
Cafe Balkan meets Theodosii Spassov in a musical journey that sketches people, places and memories; from the ports of the Mediterranean to the mountain passes of the Balkans. Melodies that balance between tradition and contemporary expression; rhythms that change faces, as musicians change borders; sounds that tell common stories, despite their differences.
The coexistence, in the same format, of musicians with different cultural backgrounds expresses the shared search for universal values that transcend time and borders, especially on issues such as exile and refugeehood.
The skilled musicians, through their creative conversation, sketch portraits adding each their own identity, walking the line between traditional and modern sound, aiming to converse in a personal language, through original compositions and traditional melodies from the Mediterranean and the Aegean Peninsula.
