Cinema in Concert travels to three communities of Cyprus

The Orchestra Lumiere combines beloved cinematic melodies with original interactive video art, presenting a distinctive audiovisual experience in Melini, Simo and Panagia.
A unique audiovisual journey into the world of film music is offered by the concert “Cinema in Concert,” presented in September and October as part of the 2026 Cultural Decentralization Program in Melini, Simo and Panagia.
The chamber music ensemble Orchestra Lumiere presents beloved melodies from cinema through original orchestrations by composer Kyriakos Kostas. The program connects different eras and aesthetics of film music, highlighting its influences and evolution, with particular emphasis on creations of the 21st century.
The music is accompanied by original interactive video art, created by Andreas Christoforos, specially designed for this production. Thus, the concert is shaped as a unified experience of image and sound, where the music and visual material converse throughout the presentation.
The initiative brings to the communities a contemporary international‑character music proposal, expanding the cultural choices of the public and strengthening its contact with new forms of artistic expression.
Participating are Marianna Georgiou (piano, production), Kyriakos Kostas (orchestrations, keyboards, production), Savvas Christodoulou (flute), Nikos Pitas (violin), Miranda Papanekleous (violoncello), Nikos Ioannou (double bass), Dona Amyroutou (percussion) and Andreas Christoforos (video art).
