A blue carpet makes common space between public and performers, where two dancers engage in a hypnotic score, carrying desire, lack, hope and loss. The Polish choreographer Ewa Dziarnowska, based in Berlin, defends a lively contact dance that favours distance.
Ewa Dziarnowska and Leah Marojević, both dressed in blue, unfold a undulating movement in space. In solo or in unison, they advance in a silent contact. The proximity of the bodies breaks the passivity of the public: the look is moving, and the movement a way to be seen — a reciprocity that shakes the classical performance.
Choreographer and performer, Ewa Dziarnowska is interested in improvisation as a method and philosophy. By paying attention to sensations, rhythm and relationships, she explores how movement can generate knowledge and resist the pressures of coherence and productivity. Driven by the present and growing emotional power, This resting, patience sees sensuality and dance as open-minded practices: sensitive technologies capable of undoing the world and projecting a continuous present towards a sustainable future — intensely tender, vibrant and attentive.

"This resting, patience" is one of these rare shows that give the impression of seeing dance for the first time.
