On October 10, the village of Evrihu, located in the heart of the Solea agricultural region, invites you to an atmospheric festival dedicated to two of Cyprus’s true treasures—olives and aromatic herbs.
It will be a packed day filled with music, dancing, traditional cuisine, the aromas of Mediterranean herbs, and an introduction to local traditions. Guests can look forward to engaging activities and entertainment for the whole family.
What can you expect at the festival?
• A traditional Cypriot “mpoukkoma” breakfast—small appetizers to help you recharge before the packed program;
• A workshop on making elio pitta—traditional olive pies;
• The chance to try your hand at grinding green olives;
• an introduction to ancient and modern methods of extracting essential oils;
• workshops on making various olive-based products;
• interesting seminars on the Mediterranean diet and the importance of olives and herbs in traditional culture and cuisine;
• a visit to an olive oil mill to learn about the olive oil production process.
A special journey awaits lovers of aromatic plants. The exclusive “Aroma Trail” will let you learn more about the variety of local herbs, spices, and fragrant plants, as well as hear the stories behind them.
Creative activities, drawing sessions, and various workshops will be organized for children.
Of course, there will be plenty of delicious food! Food stalls serving traditional Cypriot dishes and other treats will be open throughout the festival grounds.
While you enjoy the local cuisine, dance troupes will perform traditional Cypriot dances on stage, and a Greek band will provide live music to enhance the atmosphere.
