While almost all Jewish children are killed in gas chambers upon the arrival of the convoys, their survival, writes historian Laura Fontana, is “a mystery that researchers can only hypothesize about.” For 20 years Tatiana and Andra Bucci have been traveling across Italy to testify in schools.
In conversation with Jacques‑Olivier David, cultural mediator.
The meeting will be preceded by a tribute to Laura Fontana
Historian Laura Fontana passed away in janvier 2026. For more than 20 years she tirelessly worked on teaching and transmitting the history of the Shoah. Responsible for Italy at Mémorial de la Shoah, she organized extensive conference programs, teacher training, as well as traveling exhibitions.
