Joaquim comes down from a long relationship, the first and only love story he saw lasting a lifetime. Fortunately, Suzanne, her experience and good advice are there to put him back on the way to flirt – or on the market. As a sentimental education at the time of the mobile phone, Short Message Service deploys stories, practical experiences and songs over seven chapters where romanticism is never far away.
Imagined as a rereading of Fragments of a speech in love with Roland Barthes, the play is also the result of documentary work. Suzanne de Baecque and Joaquim Fossi collected testimonies and chats from people around them, on the street or on their own phones. At different times, the audience is invited to send a number of messages that appear on stage, like a series of haikus in love.
