This is a beloved and eagerly anticipated annual event for both movie lovers and classic car enthusiasts. The Idalion Classic Car Club is once again organizing an open-air drive-in cinema—this time on September 12.
A big screen, vintage cars, and street food will once again come together on the outskirts of Nicosia.
The event format is very simple: drive to the Idalion Lyceum parking lot—preferably early if you want to get a good spot—tune in to the specified radio frequency, and enjoy the movie right from your car.
The organizers have already announced the movie that will be shown in 2026.
*Gone in 60 Seconds* is a cult action film from 2000 starring Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie.
In the story, a former car thief is forced to return to his past and assemble a team of professionals to steal 50 cars in a single night to save his brother’s life.
The atmosphere of a real open-air movie theater will be enhanced by booths selling popcorn, snacks, and drinks. In addition, as is tradition, a small exhibition of vintage cars will take place before the movie begins—collectors of classic cars will gather at the venue to showcase their unique vehicles.
