Music workshop: Keep the rhythm!

Maracas, shakers and other handmade instruments will accompany participants in a playful exploration of the basics of music: pulse, rhythms, simple musical notation and listening games. Through musical excerpts from varied horizons, children will learn to recognize different rhythmic patterns and reproduce them together. The workshops alternate making, listening, experimentation and collective practice. Participants can play alone, in a duo or in a small group, discover the pleasure of creating music together and even learn a small choreography accompanied by their percussion. Supported by the association Harmonies Itinérantes, this project also raises awareness of material reuse while developing listening, coordination, creativity and self‑confidence. A joyful and accessible musical adventure to discover that rhythm is everywhere around us!
Maria Fonzino is a musician, bassist and singer. Curious about multiple musical universes, she collaborates with artists from varied cultures and aesthetics, from the Latin repertoire to contemporary music. Trained in musical pedagogy for young audiences, she regularly works in cultural institutions, nurseries and with children of diverse backgrounds. Her approach favors discovery, the pleasure of playing together and the accessibility of musical practice for everyone.
