SEGO (22h30)
(Post punk art - Los Angeles, US)
"Art-punk by artists who are neither punk nor artists": originally from Utah and based in Los Angeles, Sego first attracted the attention of LA trend makers thanks to his penchant for avant-garde rhythms accompanied by catchy indie-pop choruses. Since its beginnings, Sego's prolific production and experimental concerts have earned them all the distinctions that modern indie groups dream of: praise for NPR criticism, European tours, participations in Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits festivals, as well as a national advertising (Xfinity) broadcast during
The Olympics and the Super Bowl.
Living and recording together in their downtown Los Angeles warehouse, Sego "Art-punk by non-punks and non-artists", originally from Utah and based in Los Angeles, Sego saw his music and performances integrated into a national Xfinity campaign broadcast during the Olympic Games and the Super Bowl, as well as a Jack Daniels campaign highlighting his music. The band performed in major festivals including Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Treefort and SXSW. Sego made international tours and shared the scene with Warpaint, OK Go, iDKHOW, Vacationer, Magic City Hippies and Rubblebucket. Their work attracted the attention of critics, including NPR, Paste, Rolling Stone Mexico, BMI and Consequence of Sound, and received early support from Kitsuné, a true trend maker.
They have also been invited several times on prestigious concert platforms such as Audiotree, Daytrotter, Jam in the Van and The Wild Honey Pie. Known for its inventive and immersive concerts, the Sego catalog – Once Was Lost Now Just Hanging Around, Sego Sucks and TANDANG – has helped to establish their reputation as a "moshpit for intellectuals" band, navigating between the roots of Utah and life in Los Angeles.
