Nina
Yargekov (born 1980) is a Franco-Hungarian novelist.
His first novel,
Killing Catherine appeared in 2009 at P.O.L. Many other texts
will follow, before the success achieved by Double
nationality in 2016. In this novel, awarded by the Prix du Flore, and designed
as a literary rebus, the narrator finds herself in an airport, terra
Incognita of a young woman between two destinations.
In 2026, Nina Yargekov published Budapest (Jewish Tree Publishing), a playbook dedicated to the Hungarian capital, a kind of unusual travel guide that devours itself like a novel.
She has also been working for about ten years on a rather ambitious literary project (at least
for her), which both excited and terrified terribly. Otherwise, she
is a sociologist of training, practises the profession of translator-interpreter and
sometimes teaches at university.
The meeting will be moderated by Nils C. Ahl, journalist, collaborator of the World of Books.
