Ten years ago, the Halte Soins Addictions opened in the 10th arrondissement. The only Halte Soins in Île de France, the Jean-Pierre Lhomme space provides a secure space for drug users in extreme precariousness to consume their substances and access health and social support services.
The collective La Traverse du 10e was formed in December 2024 to demand the permanence of this space, which has been in experimentation for 10 years.
It includes parents of students, medico‑social associations, the Collectif Rue d'Alsace (residents and merchants), Action Barbès (association of residents of the Barbès crossroads), Ensemble nous sommes le 10e and representatives of the room’s users. For a year and a half, La Traverse du 10e has organized conferences, debates, processions with bands, and has responded to all inquiries: journalists (especially during election periods), researchers, public authorities, the health minister, etc.
The association Gaïa, which manages the venue, and the representatives of La Traverse will be there to present their work and discuss it.
This event is part of the 31st season of the Intercultural Meetings of Ensemble nous sommes le 10e, which will address this year the theme “Fabriquer le beau temps”.
