This really rocks with Quint’Up! With the support of Mario Canonge and Michel Zenino, this quintet brings together five outstanding musicians around jazz, saturated with hard bop, Caribbean rhythms and an irresistible desire to share.
Everything is in motion here: melodies dance, improvisations soar, and grooves are set without asking. Alex Duthil in Open Jazz on France Musique talks about “a flow of energy, swing, mastery and rocking grooves”. It's hard to describe this experience better.
Together with Canonge and Zenino we see Arnaud Dolmen, one of the most notable drummers of his generation, laureate of Victoires du Jazz; Josiah Woodson, a trumpeter awarded Grammy Awards; and Ricardo Izquierdo, a Cuban saxophonist known for the richness of his playing.
Every two months #RdvAvec invites an artist or group to continue the thread. Concert after concert the music gains depth, repertoires are rethought and new perspectives open. Because some adventures deserve more than one meeting.
