Queer Wave, the Cyprus LGBTQIA+ Film Festival, will return to the NiMAC exhibition spaces in Nicosia from September 18 to 27, marking its 7th consecutive year.
The ten-day programme will bring together local and international filmmakers, featuring screenings, performances and parallel events that offer a platform for LGBTQIA+ experiences and queer expression.
Updates on this year’s programme and pre-festival events will be announced on queerwave.com and across the festival’s social media channels, @queerwavecyprus.
Queer Wave 2026 is organised by the non-profit Queer Wave LTD and funded by the Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture.
Since launching in 2020, the festival has offered more than 250 Cyprus premieres of international LGBTQIA+ films over the past six years, while also supporting the work of Cypriot filmmakers and artists.
NiMAC, the Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre associated with the Pierides Foundation, is housed in the renovated Old Powerhouse building in the historic centre of Nicosia. It is the oldest and largest contemporary art centre in Cyprus.
