The distinguished saxophonist presents for the first time in Cyprus a unique multimedia performance, in which eight musical compositions converse with images from his personal photographic archive.
The distinguished jazz saxophonist and photographer Haris Ioannou returns to the Axiothea Mansion with a special multimedia performance that combines two creative expressions of his artistic journey: music and street photography.
His quartet presents eight jazz compositions, each accompanied by a set of his own photographs. The two arts meet on stage as two facets of the same creative vision, creating a unified aesthetic experience.
With a presence of two decades on the international jazz scene, Haris Ioannou has performed at major festivals and music venues in Cyprus and many countries abroad, such as Greece, Italy, England, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Serbia, Poland, Germany, Lebanon, Senegal and Kazakhstan.
In the last five years he has also developed an intense activity in street photography, participating in group exhibitions in Rome, Los Angeles and the United Arab Emirates, and holding a solo exhibition in New York.
This production was recently presented at the Vasilis and Eliza Goulandris Foundation in Athens, where the two arts were woven together in a single 70‑minute program that received excellent reviews. In July 2026 the work was also presented with great success at the Krakow Jazz Festival.
The Cultural Festival of the University of Cyprus hosts its first presentation in Cyprus.
