On the occasion of Mordus du Manga the des Batignolles library offers you a kamishibai story session.
Open to everyone, from age 4, you will be able to listen to a selection of funny, often touching, and sometimes even surprising stories!
What is kamishibai?
Kamishibai literally means “paper theater”. It is a storytelling technique of Japanese origin, based on images that are flipped through in a butai (wooden theater).
Kamishibai consists of a certain number of numbered cardboard sheets that form a single story.
Each sheet depicts an episode of the story: on one side — an illustration, and on the other (visible only to the storyteller) — text. The sheets are placed into the butai one after another in order of their numbering (the front sheet moves to the back, each time revealing a new illustration for the audience and text for the storyteller).
