For the third year in a row, Théâtre Rutebeuf is hosting the festival Les Femmes s'en mêlent, a must‑see gathering of independent musicians that puts female artists of the rock, pop and alternative music scenes at the center of attention.
The leading figure of this edition, Mélissa Laveaux, has been creating a unique work at the crossroads of indie‑pop, folk, rock and Caribbean music for almost twenty years. A Franco‑Canadian artist of Haitian descent, she explores in her songs issues of identity, memory, emancipation and social justice, possessing a rare tonal freedom and intensity.
Backed by a magnetic stage presence, she performs concerts where energy coexists with intimacy, where the power of lyrics meets mesmerizing melodies.
The evening will open with Alice Lewis, a singer‑songwriter‑performer with a delicate and hypnotic world. Invited into the intimate atmosphere of the Conservatoire Léo Delibes audience, this evening program celebrates the female voices shaping today’s music and illustrates Théâtre’s commitment to supporting emerging creativity and artistic discovery.
