In 1941, the poet Max Jacob meets Jacques Evrard, a 17‑year‑old young man who aspires to become a writer. That same day, he writes his famous text “Conseils à un jeune poète”. Three years later, their destinies take radically opposite paths: arrested because he is Jewish, Max Jacob is interned at Drancy where he dies in 1944; Jacques Evrard joins the Legion of French Volunteers against Bolshevism before joining the Waffen‑SS. On the occasion of this meeting, Philippe Douroux will retrace two lives that ultimately ended up opposed.
The discussion will be punctuated by readings of Max Jacob’s texts.
In the presence of Philippe Douroux, author and journalist, and a reading by Emmanuel Houzé, actor, theatre professor and director.
Hosted by Eduardo Castillo.
