In October we are setting a big gastronomic date in Athainou
Athainou is getting ready to dress in its festive attire and welcome for another year a festival dedicated to Cypriot tradition, authentic flavors and local products. The Athainou Products Festival returns on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 10:00 to 22:00, at Konstantineio Municipal Park, inviting young and old to an all‑day celebration full of tastes, music, tradition and culture.
At the heart will, of course, be the beloved Athainou products and the people who keep the local gastronomic tradition alive. From freshly baked breads and pastries to goat cheese, loukoumades, halloumi and anari, pork, loukoumia and nuts, visitors will have the chance to discover and taste the characteristic flavors of Athainou.
The program also includes workshops on traditional gastronomy, where participants can learn up close how to prepare beloved Cypriot dishes such as halloumi and anari, tarhana, bread and the noodles of the “sklinitzi”. At the same time, the famous Athainou embroideries have a special place in the event, with the village’s embroiderers showcasing the art and tradition of “pittot” stitches.
And because an authentic Cypriot celebration is not complete without music and dance, the festival will be framed by traditional dances, music and concerts, creating the perfect occasion for an autumn outing in Athainou.
