In this musical reading, Léonor de Récondo lends his voice and violin to the story of Enriqueta, his grandmother, forced to flee the family home of Irun on 18 August 1936, threatened by the Francoists. In a few minutes, everything changes: childhood, home, everyday gestures, a milked rice left forever on the kitchen table. Almost 90 years later, this suspended image became the starting point of a sensitive investigation into exile, filiation and identity.
Between prose and poetry, music and silence, the story weaves childhood memories, fragmentary archives and romantic imagination. The question of Spanish nationality, once again made accessible to the descendants of exiled Republicans, passes through the text as an intimate question: what does it mean to claim a lost identity? The music of the violin accompanies this slow march towards the ghosts, giving flesh to the absent and depth to ordinary gestures.
