It is within the framework of Saint Lazarus prison, a place both spectacular and full of history that Pascaline Herveet builds this new eight closed. Until 1927, those who were then referred to as "the infamys of the Capital" were locked in. What passionate exchanges could have had these anarchist women, cabaret dancers, prostitutes or robbers? While some were selling their bodies or collaborating with the barons of capitalism, others were fighting exploitation and dreaming of a fairer world. In a bold collage, Pascaline Herveet mixes narrative, songs, poetry and militant speech. With unbridled humour, "The Black House" weaves bridges between times and plunges us into the vibrant world of cabaret – a space of struggle and joy.
On the occasion of the exhibition Prisoners, presented from 15 September to 13 December by the media library Françoise Sagan, Pascaline Herveet is invited to the media library for a sung reading of her work during the formation.
The circus piece is scheduled for May 2027. But before that, Pascaline Herveet, author and performer of the band Les Elles, presents a solo, raw and minimalist version. The sung reading of the text will therefore take a different form from the final performance, in particular because Pascaline Hervéet will embody each of the characters.
Come to this stage of the creation of the show at the Françoise Sagan Media Library on September 25, 2026.
