"Raising your right hand" is the gesture you make in court when you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, just the truth. But this is also the title of Cécile Becamel's upsetting text that the Théâtre de la Concorde chose to carry to the stage.
In a court waiting room, two women victims of domestic violence meet. One is ready to testify, the other refuses to speak. Between them engages in a fragile, sometimes painful dialogue, where certainties waver and where each tries to understand the path taken by the other.
Powered by the voices of Irene Jacob and Maud Wyler, this reading explores the mechanisms of grip, the invisible fractures left by violence and the difficulty of rebuilding self-confidence as in others.
A work on true listening, repair and the power of speech.
