News Thursdays: Inflation, the big scam?

Since the publication of the book Inflation, the great scam (eds. Les évacues, 2025) has created the idea of a discussion about a sustainable economic phenomenon: inflation. Since economic library meetings are rare, the opportunity is great to address, in an educational way, a subject that affects all strata of society, in an unequal way. This discussion between two economists, moderated by André Loez du Monde des livres, will allow us to draw up a clear picture of the impact of inflation on household budgets, while proposing a more comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon.
Gilles
Raveaud teaches economic policy, the euro, public services and social policies in Europe at the Institute of European Studies at the Université Paris 8 Saint-Denis. He completed a post-doctoral degree at Harvard University in the United States from 2005 to 2007. Gilles Raveaud is the author of the graphic novel La Bourse et la vie published in April 2026.

Marie is Professor of Economics at IHEAL-Creda, Sorbonne Nouvelle University and a member of the Landed Economists collective. His research is in the field of macroeconomics. Its work

André Loez, a French historian, is a specialist in the history of the First World War and the 19th century. He has been involved in the writing of textbooks and since 2018 animates a podcast entitled "Words of History"
