"Sara, 38, lives for the MMA. The Alpha Team, its club, is its refuge and horizon. But after a defeat in a decisive fight, the end of a career is looming and weakens his certainty, while an unexpected message sends him back to a father with whom ties have long been broken. At a time when his body is less resistant, his whole way of existence is being tested.
Ode to this often disputed combat sport, of which she herself is a practitioner, Bagarre, d'Emilia Petrakis, concentrates in the octagon the doubts, hopes and intimate fractures of her characters. The novel questions what it means to continue to fight when it is these very reasons to hold on and hold the blows that must be reinvented." (cf. Festival Off Limits 2026)
