On this end‑of‑the‑world stage a police officer, a journalist, a doctor and a famous singer alternate burlesque sketches, love songs, magic tricks and stripteases. These four archetypal figures of power, simultaneously familiar and grotesque, reproduce the symptoms of our love passions up to intimate collapse. It is precisely these heart‑driven impulses—in their most insane form—that lie at the centre of this biblical‑pop ritual. Unstoppable desire as a counter‑spell aimed against the world order, obsessed with control over bodies and imaginations. Fiery love in all its subversive power, capable of disorganising roles, shaking hierarchies and cracking Western structures of domination.
In this cabaret of broken hearts, where the ghosts of our love stories surface, Céline Champinot seeks not so much to banish passions as to test their full depth, in order to shift our gaze. And if in this collapse there hides an unexpected possibility—to see the emergence of other ways of being in the world?
Céline Champinot leads us into this yo‑yo, characteristic of a love state, into its excesses and great deviations. With many twists and tone changes, Le Mauvais Sort plays with us, inventing redemptive rituals to cleanse our heartaches, and turns our unhappy love experiences into soil for a merry and irreverent carnival.

Accompanied by Céline Champinot, step into the world of cabaret and explore the effects of gaze and representation in a collective play experience. Through this practice you observe how these forms change as soon as they are looked at, and how gaze creates power, desire or anxiety. Gaze is no longer passive: it becomes an active element of the stage.
In response to her creation Le Mauvais Sort, this master‑class by Céline Champinot offers to collectively, “by eye”, build a small cabaret from simple gestures, attempts and short actions. Gradually these ordinary gestures turn into numbers, transformed by being replayed, observed and staged.
The master‑class relies on triangular relationships between performer, play partner and audience to foster listening, interaction and the building of collective forms rather than individual performance. Everyone is invited to play with another just as they play with themselves.
Finally, you experiment with what happens when you play the audience in front of an audience, and how this changes roles, places and expectations.
Between play, anxiety and self‑staging this master‑class invites each person to explore cabaret codes in a collective, sensitive and playful approach.

Since childhood cartoons have urged us to desire the bad‑boy archetype, to dream of formulaic romantic‑comedy scenarios, to hope for a “stolen” kiss.
Pop culture constantly and slyly influences our behaviour and love relationships. At the same time these fascinations and stereotypes often turn out to be toxic. This essay invites deep and bold reflection on sexist and sexual violence hidden behind our favourite entertainments.
