Designed by violinist Paul Serri, this cycle continues its exploration of the great works of the repertoire by combining transmission, interpretation and listening. Each appointment proposes to discover a score through its historical context, the choices of the performers and the emotions that it carries, before hearing the full performance.
This season, Beethoven will be one of the red sons of the race route. A composer deeply marked by the ideals of freedom and emancipation, he stopped pushing the boundaries of musical creation. His works will interact with those of César Franck, Brahms or Shostakovich, offering as many perspectives on the great issues that go through our lives: trust, memory, commitment, doubt or hope.
Led by Paul Serri, the Katok Ensemble and many guest artists, these educational concerts are intended for well-informed music lovers as well as those who wish to discover classical music differently: as a living, shared and deeply contemporary experience.

Throughout the season, Beethoven will be one of the red threads of our musical journey. Through several meetings dedicated to his string quartets, we will follow the evolution of a composer whose work continues, more than two centuries after his creation, to talk to us with an intact force.
A deeply humanist figure, carried by the ideals of freedom, equality and emancipation of his time, Beethoven stopped pushing the limits of musical writing. Real creative laboratories, its quartets will allow us to discover the richness of its musical thought and the extraordinary trajectory of an artist who has profoundly transformed the history of music.

César Franck – Sonata for violin and piano in major

Trust may be a way to move forward together. In the Sonata in the major of César Franck, the violin and the piano weave a dialogue of a rare intensity where listening to the other becomes the very engine of musical discourse.
Faithful to his vocation despite his late recognition, Franck also embodies a form of confidence in the long time of creation. Like his journey, this sonata does not deny doubts or tensions; It gradually transforms them to lead the listener towards a luminous and deeply soothed conclusion.
