The Tenderness of the Whale's Belly, show by Géraldine Chollet at the Carreau du Temple
When: 17.11.2026 21:00
Where: 48.864479, 2.362067
Organizer: Admin
A blue wave, like a unifying movement, sweeps through the audience with creative softness. Where pulse and rhythm become the vital forces of a piece of dance, music and especially, relationships. An act of sharing, sensory and free.
Géraldine Chollet choreographs relationships in transformation, seeing dance as a means to create connection, care and solidarity. Hence the idea of tenderness when she freely draws inspiration from the myth of Jonas who crosses the sea inside the belly of a whale. Jonas eventually gets spat out with, in him·her, fragments of a forgotten dance: the dance of joy, which Chollet digs deep resonances of in each person. This timeless memory invites sharing and openness, Jonas's journey being mentioned in the Christian, Jewish and Islamic Scriptures.
And the encounter is on schedule. The audience takes place in a square space to let themselves be surrounded and even crossed by eight dancers, all dressed in blue and arriving in waves, between delicacy and frenzy, accompanied by a guitarist‑singer and a DJ. Laureate of the Prix suisse des Arts de la scène, Géraldine Chollet invites a sensory and intense experience that allows the exploration of our deepest inner whirlwinds.
