Saxophonist, clarinetist and composer Hillai Govreen presents her quartet, performing original music shaped by contemporary jazz.
Rooted in the New York jazz scene and nourished by a wide range of influences, the quartet explores a balance between structure and freedom, lyricism and rhythmic intensity. Each piece unfolds through interaction, spontaneity and a strong compositional identity.
Based in New York, Govreen collaborates with many international musicians. She has toured in India, Europe, Israel, Brazil and the United States, and has played in iconic New York venues such as Dizzy's Club, The Jazz Gallery, Smalls Jazz Club, Mezzrow, Birdland, National Sawdust and Ornithology Jazz Club.
