On stage, two performers take over a treasure of heritage: the Tapestry of Bayeux. But here, no museum or showcase – history comes to life with three pieces of cardboard and a good dose of imagination. What to embark small and large in this revisited medieval series, funny and inventive.
With a malicious humour, the dancers unfold the 70 meters of the famous embroidery as one would chain the episodes of a series: pressed heroes, express battles, mischievous narrator, and... a song from ABBA to close the whole – because after all, you have to honor queens as well as kings!
In the image of this spectacle, which combines the text with images to make the story and its representation accessible to children, without diluting either the screenplay or the outcome, Gaëlle Bourges's work of artistic "deconstruction" continues its journey in contact with the History of Art and its most eloquent forms while injecting a welcome critical discourse.

This parent/child workshop is designed as a fun immersion in the visual and stage world of Gaëlle Bourges' Guillaume & Harold show. Through the manufacture and movement of cardboard objects and silhouettes, discover how simple materials — cardboard, kraft paper or plastic sheet — can become a material to tell stories and create moving images.
The content of the workshop revolves around the Bayeux Tapestry, a major inspiration of Guillaume & Harold. Accompanied by Camille Gerbeau, performer of the show, you choose one to two episodes of this famous medieval fresco, then recreate them in the form of carved cardboard silhouettes, in the way of objects manipulated in the room: boats, horses, swords or shields. Some materials can also recreate landscapes and scenic effects, such as the plastic sheet used to evoke the sea and the crossings.
Throughout the workshop, you experience different ways to make these forms live: moving an army, raising a wave, composing a battle scene or inventing a crossing. You explore how a fixed image becomes movement, how very simple objects can produce performance effects, and how the collective game allows you to build small narratives inspired by the universe of the show.
A creative and fun workshop to share with the family, to dive into the behind-the-scenes manufacturing of the scenery and accessories of a show and to experience the links between visual arts and living arts.

Explore the scenery and the world of the show through a tactile tour of the stage, specially designed for blind and visually impaired people.
