When Nature Becomes Artwork
; Appropriations: KEI
Throughout October, the Maurice Genevoix Library hosts the naturalistic illustrations of artist Kei. Fascinated by the living world, it takes a sensitive and careful look at insects, these small creatures often discreet but essential to the balance of our ecosystems. Through a series of black and white drawings made with great precision, the artist reveals the richness of the shapes, textures and details of the world of insects. Bourdons, butterflies, ants or bugs become real subjects of observation and creation, at the border between art and natural sciences.
This exhibition is part of our strong time "Nature as a source of inspiration", which invites young and old to look differently at the living around us and to discover how it feeds the imagination of artists.
And to extend this meeting, Kei will host on Saturday 28 November at 4pm an illustration workshop allowing the public to discover its artistic approach and to learn about naturalist observation and drawing.
