Philip Ktenas, Rena Andreou and the Paspartatou star at the 21st Pancyprian Rose Festival, which returns with free entrance.
The pomegranate has been an integral part of the rural and cultural identity of Ormidia for decades. References to its cultivation and export appear in the Cypriot press as early as 1933, confirming its important position in the production of the community. Today, the Pomegranate of Ormidia remains one of the most recognizable local products and regains its own great celebration.
The 21st Pancyprian Rose Festival will take place on Saturday 19 September at the Central Square of Ormidia. It is one of the most important cultural institutions in the community, which each year attracts visitors from all over Cyprus, combining tradition, gastronomy, creation and entertainment.
The festival will begin with traditional skates on the main streets of the village and will continue with music from the shape of Paspartou. Later, Philip Ktenas and Rena Andreu will be on stage, presenting a folk program full of singing and dancing. The evening will also involve the dance sections of the cultural groups of Ormidia, with traditional and folk dances.
A special place at the festival will, of course, have pomegranate flavors. In the special booths guests will be able to taste and procure natural juice, fresh pomegranates, smoothies, cocktails, palouze, sujiukko, lukoumia and other creations. At the same time, street food with various food options will operate.
The programme will still include pre-fiscal experiential activities and activities for young and old, offering opportunities for creation, learning and meaningful contact with tradition. The festival is organized by the Community Council of Ordeia and the cultural groups of the community.
