The 17th Pharos International Festival of Contemporary Music will conclude with an unusual and vibrant event—the dramedy concert “Silence is Golden.”
Three outstanding musicians will take the stage: the magnificent soprano Sarah Maria Sun, the world-renowned clarinetist Julian Bliss, and pianist Jan Philip Schulze.
Audiences are in for an amazing musical journey in which seriousness intertwines with humor, tenderness with dark irony, and classical sophistication unexpectedly meets the vibrant atmosphere of Broadway.
The program will feature works by Franz Schubert, George Gershwin, Benjamin Britten, Gustav Mahler, Kurt Weill, Georges Aperghis, and Leonard Bernstein.
The music will shift from chamber songs and cabaret to opera, Broadway, and contemporary music, creating an unusual space where melancholy coexists with mischief, and predicting the next twist is practically impossible.
