Between visual arts, music, theater and performance, Dorian Wood develops a creative activity driven by the desire to challenge the traditions and norms of the dominant systems of the modern world. Xavela Lux Aeterna leads him to revisit the feverish repertoire of the great Chavela Vargas, now a queer icon. Sharing Costa Rican roots, the two artists also share the same birthday (April 17). Alongside a small musical ensemble, Dorian Wood reinvents the art of rancheras (traditional Mexican songs popularized from the 1930s) by bringing his vocal mastery and magnetic presence. Very inhabited and contrasted, from stripping down to exuberance, the concert invites you to experience a luminous ritual of love and memory.
