Two‑day festival in Lagia with local products, music and Cypriot dances

The village celebrates the Dormition of the Theotokos on August 14 and 15, with tradition, faith and authentic hospitality
On the occasion of the great feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos, the Municipal District of Lagia of the Municipality of Lefkaron organizes a two‑day festival full of tradition, music, local flavors and Cypriot hospitality.
The events will take place on Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th of August, in the premises of the Church of Panagia, inviting residents and visitors to celebrate together one of the most important days of Orthodoxy.
The festival begins on Friday at 18:30 with Vespers. Immediately afterwards, in the churchyard stalls will operate with local products, fasting delicacies, grape juice and drinks.
On the day of the Fifteenth of August, from 07:00 to 09:30, a festive Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in the Panagia temple. After it ends, the stalls with local products will continue operating.
In the evening, at 20:00, the fun takes the stage, with live traditional music by Vaso Nikolí and her group. The program will be enriched by traditional Cypriot dances performed by the dance ensemble Perkalos, and souvlaki will be sold for €5.
The organization is undertaken by the Church Committee of the church, the Municipal District of Lagia of the Municipality of Lefkaron, the Association “Friends of Lagia” and the Hunting Association of Lagia.
