How can we preserve our democracies in the face of new power relations, digital platforms and artificial intelligence systems that now reconfigure our relationship to information, knowledge and politics? Designed and facilitated by Hugo Micheron, associate professor at the École d'affaires publiques de Sciences Po, the IA public seminar, democracies and information environment, organized by the Théâtre de la Concorde et Sciences Po, returns for a third edition. After two seasons devoted to the fractures of public space, information manipulations and contemporary geopolitical recompositions, this new cycle proposes to shift the look towards the structural transformations that artificial intelligence imposes on European societies. From September 2026 to May 2027, each session will engage an academic with an artist, writer, intellectual, or public figure in order to cross-examine and fuel debate. On the agenda of meetings September 23 / Digital Sovereignty and Public Space Online The cycle opens with a large interview in the presence of Anna Zeiter, co-founder and CEO of W Social. This meeting will explore the conditions for European digital sovereignty and the challenges of the online public space reconquest. A European alternative to large social networks, W Social defends a model based on identity verification, data hosting in Europe and respect for GDPR. October 21 / Privacy, encryption and surveillance economy This session will focus on privacy and encryption technologies. It will examine these tools as ways to preserve individual freedoms in the face of an economic model based on the mass collection and exploitation of personal data. December 2 / Quantification of the World At the crossroads of science and literature, this meeting will offer a reflection on the numbering of the real. It will question how the extension of computation and artificial intelligence systems transforms our relationship to knowledge, decision-making and freedom. ; Credits : SciencesPo
