I grew up on the margins of an image of masculinity that didn't look like me. That is the starting point for Nicolas Huchard to create the enchanting CREDO. The pop‑style choreographer, who has long worked in the fields of fashion and music – he has choreographed Madonna, Lady Gaga and Aya Nakamura – brings together eight performers to embody a multiplicity of shades of masculinity. On a metamorphic stage, both dance floor, runway and pole‑dance podium, dynamic and fluid choreographies embrace and alternately challenge gendered norms. In this reflection that presents virility as a myth, the bodies bear witness to internal struggles between identities shaped by social injunctions and opposing them.
