Formed in the early 2000s in various secluded corners of nocturnal Francilia, electro-dance emerged into the light during the Techno Parade in 2007. As its name clearly indicates, it arises in harmony with electronic rhythms, preferably heavily swinging. Simultaneously (hyper) dynamic, ethical and authentic, it mocks Tektonic, a fully commercial variation quickly absorbed by the media machine.
Since 2007, under the influence of videos spread through the internet, it has not stopped gaining followers across the planet. With the productions Elektro Kif (2010) and Elektrik (2017) choreographer Blanca Li gave it real stage legitimacy. In this regard the young and very creative troupe MazelFreten proves equally important, especially with the production Rave Lucid (2022).
Launched in 2013, the world championship for electro-dance – Life’s Round Contest (LRC for close ones) – further amplified this movement of recognition. The initiative belongs to the association LRC Officiel, founded by Jimmy Medina (alias Milliard), a virtuoso and activist of the cause, already a multiple world champion.
