Who was never photographed at the carnival? Child on his first ride lap, coming down trembling with a thrilling ride, or enjoying a love apple? Photography is far from being a recent phenomenon on the fairground: upon the arrival of more manoeuvrable apparatus, and relatively short breaks, the travelling photographers followed the fairgrounds, before themselves seizing this new artistic form, even entertainment. This conference offers you to relive this history of carnival photography since the end of the 19th century.
