Estelle Figon, an associate of Japanese language and civilization and a teacher at the Ens-Psl since 2007. A fellow of the Japanese government and then of the Kasumi Kaikan, she lived for several years in Tokyô. When she returned, she worked in the media and interpreting world, then turned to teaching. She is particularly interested in the literature of the first half of the 20th century and has translated a novel by Sakaguchi Ango, Meurtres sans série, to Les Belles Lettres in 2016. She has also recently published the translation of a collection of texts by Hayashi Fumiko, Jeune Printemps, at Éditions Rue d'Ulm.
Emmanuel Lozerand, former student of the ENS de Saint-Cloud, associate of Modern Letters, and professor of Japanese language and literature at Inalco. He is interested in authors from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Natsume Sôseki, Mori Ôgai or Masaoka Shiki for example. In particular, he published Literature and National Engineering. The birth of literary history in late 19th-century Japan (The Belles Lettres, 2005, Shibusawa-Claudel Prize 2005, translated into Japanese at Iwanami shoten in 2022). He won the 2017 Konishi Translation Award for Masaoka Shiki, a six-foot-long sick bed (Les Belles-Lettres, 2016).
